A 97-year-old woman from Carlow has sadly died recently, leaving her friends, family and community heartbroken.
Catherine Curran has been paid a special message from Carlow community games where she was their beloved President.
The message said: "today we heard the very sad news that our beloved President Mrs Catherine Curran has gone to her final resting place in her 97th year.
"Remarkable, formidable, encouraging, wise, and inspirational are just a few of the many adjectives that describe this charismatic soul. No doubt she is already busy organising and re-aligning the stars in the next world. Mrs Curran will be dearly missed by everyone. Our thoughts are with her family and her many, many friends at this sad time. RIP Mrs Catherine Curran".
A comment under the post said: "Such an amazing woman. I am very sorry to hear this sad news. Condolences to all her beautiful family".
"To all of Catherine's family and many, many friends, deepest sympathy on the death of a lovely, strong, determined lady. Catherine's ability to organize and see community games from start to literal finish , our community of sport owe her a significant debt. You've finally finished "the good race", rest in peace," another message said.
