Carlow house-hunters are on high alert after plans for a new residential complex in the town were revealed.
Ballon Property Holdings have submitted a planning application for the construction of the development at Mortarstown Upper, Carlow Town.
The site is located on one of the main roads into the town, close to the South East Technological University (SETU) campus.
The proposed development consists of 52 residential units, including three Block A buildings, each containing four two-bedroom apartments and four two-bedroom houses
There would also be three Block B buildings at the complex, which would be separated into two two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom units.

Two Block C buildings would consist of two two-bedroom apartments and two two-bedroom houses.
Finally, two Block D buildings would contain two two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom apartments.
In total, 10 block buildings form part of the plans, which also include the provision of associated parking, public open space and landscaping.
Works would also have to be carried out on boundary treatments, water and utility services and connections, lighting and other enabling site works above and below ground. A new site entrance would also be constructed.
Carlow County Council is inviting members of the public to make a submission regarding the proposed development up until November 27.
The council is expected to make a decision on the planning application by December 18.
