Join Active Carlow for their Christmas Women’s Hike on Saturday, 6th December at 9.30am.

The groupwill meet at 9.00am at Glenmulure Lodge, Glenmalure in County Wicklow and will then drive up to Glenmalure Valley to the start of the hike, which is only a few minutes drive. 

"This hike is perfect for women looking to enjoy the great outdoors and take on a challenge in a supportive and friendly environment. We might even decorate our own Christmas tree while we are up there and sing a few Christmas songs!" Active Carlow said.

The group will also go to Glenmulure lodge for some light refreshments after the hike at around 2pm.

This is a moderate hike with a slightly difficult section, Active Carlow said.

  • Price: €10.00+ booking fee
  • Start Time: 9.30am (meet at 9.00am)
  • Duration: 4 - 4.5hrs
  • Hiking Boots necessary (runners are not suitable for this hike)

What gear do you need:

  • Wear comfortable clothing like - leggings, tracksuit bottoms, breathable T-Shirt and
    fleece & an extra warm layer.
  • Be ready for the rain and pack a rain jacket and rain
    trousers.
  • A hat and gloves to keep you safe from the wind even in Summer.
  • Wear good sturdy walking shoes or hillwalking boots with woolly or synthetic socks.
  • Have a backpack with water, sandwiches and snacks, coffee, tea, etc.
  • Don’t forget to bring first aid kit with plaster and bandages, personal medicine,
    inhaler, EpiPen etc.
