RIP: 'Beautiful lady'- Tributes paid as well-known Carlow mother of nine sadly dies

Tributes have poured in following the sad passing of a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother from Carlow.

Margaret Foley (née Nolan) from Milltown, Garryhill, Carlow will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved her after she passed away peacefully on November 21st, 2025.

Predeceased by her beloved husband John, brothers Tom, Jim and Mick, sisters Nan and Kitty.

Margaret was the much loved mother of Paul, Patrick, Sean, Sinead, Niall, Robert, Dermot, Seamus and Kevin.

Deeply regretted by her sons, daughter, son-in-law M.J., daughters-in-law, grandchildren Saoire, Andrew, Zoe, Nicole, Ruth, Ross, Zak, Dean, Conor, Abbie, Amy, Jake, Noah, Tadhg, Odhram, Kyle, Isabella, Bobby, Grace, Vivian, Cillian and Amelia, great-grandchildren Ellie, Paige, Leah, Cillian & Corey. brother Pat, sisters Lil and Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Margaret, with one mourner writing,

"Sincere condolences to all the Foley Family. Your mam was a beautiful lady who always had a kind word & a smile and a genuine welcome for everyone she met. May her gentle soul rest now".

Another message said, "Deeply saddened to hear the news of Margaret's death. She was a kind soul and a true lady. Sincere condolences to all of Margaret's family at this sad time. May she rest in peace".

"Deepest sympathies to all the Foley and Nolan family on the sad passing of Margaret. I have lovely childhood memories of Margaret’s warmth and kindness. Thinking of you all. Rest in peace," another person said.
