'Disrespectful and unfair': Carlow woman hits out at drivers parking in parent and baby spots
A Carlow woman has hit out at people who park in mother and baby spots on Facebook, labelling it as "disrespectful and unfair."
She posted in the Facebook group 'All About Carlow' to share her frustration.
"People parking in mammy and baby spots in Carlow needs to stop it’s an absolute disgrace and so disrespectful to mothers it’s like sticking up a middle finger to someone with small children," she wrote.
She added that when people park in disabled spots, they are publicly shamed however, someone without children parking in a parent and baby spot is deemed "okay."

"Lazy people either afraid of walking or afraid to get a bit wet from the rain but would rather a baby or young child did cause they’re taking the space anyway!! Disrespectful and unfair and something needs to be done," Amy concluded.
Hundreds of people jumped to the comment section to share their thoughts, with many actually disagreeing.
"I'm considered "disabled" due to a chronic incurable illness, but deemed not disabled for a blue badge. I'll park in a parent and child spot every time!," one person said.
Others shared the same frustration, especially when it comes to driving around a car park "multiple times."

"The same ones being ignorant dogs in the comments are the ones that would be b*tching if their car got scratched by a buggy when trying to fit it between tightly parked cars to put it in the boot or hit with a car door when your trying to have enough space to strap a tiny baby into a car seat," another woman commented.
One woman expressed how she hopes the government would give fines to people who parked in the spots, but it was highlighted how in Ireland, they are courtesy spots and it is not illegal for people who are not parents to park in them.
Retailers generally don't enforce any rules around who can park in a parent and baby spot as it is not a legal requirement, rather a moral decision.
