Two popular menswear stores in Carlow’s Fairgreen Shopping Centre have closed their doors, with Camden Square and Tailor of Blue both confirming they have ceased trading.
The two Carlow shops, which were operated by the same Limerick-based company, also closed their sister stores in the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick this week.
Both businesses issued identical statements on social media on Tuesday, confirming the difficult decision to shut.
“After many years of trading, we regret to announce that Camden Square has ceased trading,” the post read.
“We would like to sincerely thank all of our customers for their loyalty, support, and custom over the years. It has been a privilege to serve the communities of Limerick, Carlow, and beyond.”

The statement also points to the growing pressures facing bricks-and-mortar retailers across Ireland.
“Despite our best efforts, the continued rise in operational costs, tightening margins, and an increasingly competitive retail market have made it impossible for the business to continue.”
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported us. Thank you,” the statements concluded.
The closures will be felt in Carlow Town where both Camden Square and Tailor of Blue had been fixtures in Fairgreen Shopping Centre, catering to customers looking for suits, smartwear and casual menswear.
