A young darts star from Carlow has taken a major step forward in what is shaping up to be a hugely promising career.
Sixteen-year-old Jack Courtney has been signed by Mission Darts, one of the sport's leading equipment manufacturers and sponsors of elite and youth players.
Mission confirmed the deal this week, announcing: "Mission Darts is pleased to announce the signing of Irish youth international Jack Courtney."
The Carlow teenager enjoyed a breakthrough 2025 season, winning the WDF World Youth Cup youth pairs and the INDO Irish Classic boys' singles titles.
The Irish teenager started off 2025 by winning a tour card at JDC Q-School and made one semi-final and two quarter-finals in his first season on the JDC Advanced Tour.

He also finished the year as the number one ranked player in the INDO boys' rankings and captained the Republic of Ireland youth team.
On signing with Mission, Courtney said: "I am very grateful for the opportunity Mission has given me. I am so looking forward to working with Team Mission and seeing what the future holds."
The young Carlow thrower has already built a strong reputation on the Irish youth darts scene, with Mission describing him as a standout talent following his rise through the ranks last year.
Darryl Fitton, Mission's player development manager, added: "I think Jack is a great addition to Team Mission. He brings quality and a lot of experience even though he'sonly 16 it feels like Jack has been around for a long time."
Carlow Darts Organisation were quick to congratulate the teenager, writing: "Congratulations to Jack Courtney who has signed for Mission. A super signing for Mission and great recognition for a superstar in the making. Well done Jack from all at Carlow Darts."
