Fianna Fáil TD for Carlow-Kilkenny, Jennifer Murnane O’Connor, has said a new programme of Coillte works will help maintain key walking routes across Carlow.
The works will focus on the upkeep of paths and signage at a number of locations, helping to ensure trails remain easy to use and safe for the growing number of people accessing them.
Deputy Murnane O’Connor said: “These are really well-used trails and people notice when they are not properly maintained, so it is good to see this work being carried out.
“It is often the small things like clear paths and good signage that make the biggest difference to people using these areas.”

The programme includes works at:
All sites will see routine upkeep of paths and signage as part of the works.
Deputy Murnane O’Connor added: “More people are getting out and using these trails, which is great to see, but it does mean they need to be kept in good condition. This work will help make sure they are safe, accessible and easy to navigate for everyone.
“These are important local amenities and it is important they continue to be properly maintained.”
The works form part of a wider programme being delivered by Coillte to maintain recreational sites nationwide.
