KILKEE Civic Trust's summer talks will take a trip down memory lane this week.
The fifth KCT talk takes place on Wednesday August 2. The speaker is Joe Coleman, author and former cinema worker, who will deliver a comprehensive and fully illustrated lecture on the history of Limerick cinema.
"House Full: Going to the Pictures in a Time Gone By" is an affectionate look back on the old cinemas and theatres of Limerick. It is inspired by Joe's book House Full, and details the history of the Savoy, the Royal, the Tivoli and more, along with the influence of the Catholic Church on cinema of the day.
The talk will take place Wednesday evening at 8pm at Cultúrlann Sweeney in Kilkee. Admission to all KCT talks are free of charge, and a donations box is available on the night to assist KCT in defraying essential and necessary expenses.
