MUNSTER Rugby's big home United Rugby Championship interprovincial derby clash with Leinster over the Christmas period will not take place on St Stephen's Day this year.
It was conformed this Thursday that the Round 9 game at Thomond Park will instead go ahead on Friday, December 27 with a 7.35pm kick-off time.
The game between the great rivals had taken place in Limerick on December 26 for the past number of years.
The earlier Round 4 meeting between provincial rivals Leinster and Munster will go ahead at Croke Park on Saturday, October 12. The fixture at GAA headquarters will have a 5.45pm kick-off.

Munster play their first pre-season friendly fixture this Saturday when travelling to The Rec to take on Johann van Graan's Bath side at 3pm.
Meanwhile, Munster's Round 8 URC interpro fixture with Ulster at Kingspan Stadium in Belfast goes ahead on Friday, December 20 with a 7.35pm start time.
The URC has also confirmed that Munster's home fixture with the Scarlets in the URC takes place at Thomond Park on Saturday, February 15 at 5.15pm, with the home Round 12 meeting with Edinburgh going ahead on Friday, February 28 at Virgin Media Park in Cork on Friday, February 28 at 7.35pm.
