West Clare roads reopen as flood waters recede

A nuumber of roads in west Clare have reopened this Monday morning following heavy rains and flooding over the weekend.

The N85 and R476 Corofin Road, as well as local roads around Ballyvaughan, Kilnamona and Kilfenora were rendered impassable on Saturday, November 23 due to flooding after Storm Bert.

A Status Orange rain warning was in place over Clare and five other counties on Saturday morning.

In an update shared this Monday morning, November 25, Clare County Council have announced that most roads flooded are now passable.

The Lahinch - Ennistymon to Ennis Rd (N85) has now reopened, and the R477 Road at Ballyvaughan is now passable, the council shared on social media.

The Leamaneh Castle Junction, Kilfenora on the R476 is also passable and open.
