Met Éireann have issued a Status Red wind warning for Mayo, Clare, Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo and Galway ahead of the weekend as Storm Darragh fast approaches.
Across the six counties, Storm Darragh brings extremely strong and gusty northwest winds which are likely to lead to fallen trees, damage to power lines and dangerous travelling conditions.
The storm is also strong enough to cause structural damage to temporary structures as well as wave overtopping.

The Status Red wind warning for each county was issued this morning at 9.49a.m. , December 6 and is valid for Mayo from 10pm Friday, December 6 until 3am Saturday, December 7.
The Status Red warning for Clare and Galway is valid from 10pm Friday, December 6 until 2am Saturday, December 7.
The Status Red warning for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo is valid from 11pm Friday, December 6 until 3am Saturday, December 7.
