Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have observed any persons or vehicles acting suspiciously in the area to come froward to the station
Gardaí in Shannon are investigating a theft from a vehicle that was parked in a housing estate in the town.
In an appeal for witnesses, they say the owner parked their vehicle, a white Nissan van, near their home at Cronin Gardens estate on the evening of Friday, April 4.
"The next morning they discovered that someone had entered the van and stolen a green wallet with a bank card which was inside," said crime prevention officer Sergeant Catriona Holohan.
Investigating gardai believe the incident happened sometime between 10.30pm on Friday, April 4 and 9am the following morning.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have observed any persons or vehicles acting suspiciously in the area to come forward.

They are also appealing to anyone who may have any CCTV or dash cam footage that could assist the investigation to make the footage available.
