Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Sr Ann, with one mourner writing,

"So sad to hear the very sad news of Sr Ann’s passing She was such a wonderful, happy, positive influence on all of us in 1970s Kilrush, with her guitar and big smile We all loved her Can still remember her coming home from college, Christmas 1976, and ‘telling’ (not asking) her, she had to hear ‘When a child is born’ and learn it asap and then teach it to us, as we, her ‘folk group’ should sing it at Christmas She duly obliged and we were on!!

"It is an abiding memory of midnight mass in Monmore that year, her glorious voice, to a totally captivated congregation, you literally could hear a pin drop It was heavenly or magical or both She had the voice of an angel, now may the choirs of heavenly angels lead her to paradise, to meet up once more with her wonderful friend Marie Ryan who also was a beautiful presence in Kilrush in the early 70s And reunited with all her family gone before her

"Deepest and sincere sympathy to all her family and all the sisters of the Mercy community and all who mourn her
Heaven has gained a most glorious voice to its heavenly choir Sr Anne or ‘Sr James’ as we first knew you, may you now rest in eternal peace."

Another message said, "Thinking of Sr Eucharia, Gerdine and Alex at this sad time. Ann was the kindest loveliest lady who brought a calm to every difficult time. She will be remembered fondly by anyone's life she entered. She was so intelligent, patient always doing her best for all of our students. Her legacy and gentle nature will live on as we move forward in our school community".

"Sr Ann was a colleague, a mentor and a friend. I have beautiful memories of her and especially of the launch of her exceptional book of poetry, "My Elusive God", which captures so well her deep spirituality and her search for The Divine. You were always an inspiration Sr Ann. Rest well now," another person said.
