LATEST: Man (20s) left 'hurt and disorientated' following random attack in Ennis

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses

Gardaí in Ennis are investigating an early-morning assault which left a young man needing medical attention after becoming "hurt and disorientated."

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, October 12, along Abbey Street in the town. The assault took place at 2:10am.

According to Gardaí, the injured party, a man aged in 20s, was in this area when an unknown man approached and then punched him while outside the pharmacy. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. 

The injured party was "hurt and disorientated" following the attack and later received medical attention.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses: If you were in town on Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning and you witnessed this assault on Abbey Street, please contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.
