A popular commuter road in East Clare is currently off-limits to motorists following news that an emergency road closure has been put in place.
Clare County Council has announced the closure of the R-461 between Caher Cross and R-458 Lough Cutra Cross to facilitate emergency road resurfacing works.
During the duration of these works, the road will be subject to a full closure between 8am and 6pm each day, with traffic diversions in place until Friday, November 7.

Diversions for motorists travelling Southbound from R-458 Lough Cutra and Gort will be diverted from the R-458 onto the R-462 to Tulla.
Traffic will then be diverted along the R-352 to Ballynahinch Cross and onto the R-461 to Feakle and Dromindoora.
As well as this, traffic travelling Northbound will be diverted along the R-461 to Feakle.
Traffic will also be diverted along the R-461 to Ballynahinch Cross onto the R-352 for Tulla and onto the R-462 towards R-458 Lough Cutra Cross.
Local access is being provided for the duration of the emergency road works.
