During the duration of these works, the road will be off-limits to the public between 8am and 6pm

A busy road in East Clare will be subject to an 11-day emergency road closure that may cause delays for drivers, Clare County Council has revealed. 

The R-462 between St James’s Church, Knockjames in Tulla and the R-458 Lough Cutra Cross will close to facilitate the felling of dangerous roadside trees. 

The closure will be in place from Monday, November 10 until Friday, November 21, with a 10-hour closure in place each day throughout this period.

During the duration of these works, the road will be off-limits to the public between 8am and 6pm. Traffic diversions will be put in place.

Alternative routes for motorists travelling R-458 Lough Cutra and Gort will be diverted from R-458 onto the R-462 to Tulla.

Traffic will then be diverted along the R-352 to Ballynahinch Cross and onto the R-461 to Feakle and Dromindoora. 

Meanwhile, drivers travelling Northbound will be diverted along the R-461 to Feakle.

Traffic will then be diverted along the R-461 to Ballynahinch Cross onto the R-352 for Tulla and onto the R-462 towards R-458 Lough Cutra Cross.

Local access will be provided for the duration of the emergency road works.
