A stolen registration plate enables crime as it allows the driver of a stolen car to travel without drawing the attention of authorities
Gardaí in Ennis have launched an investigation following the theft of a front registration plate from a vehicle on St Stephen’s Day.
The car, a brown Hyundai Tucson, was parked in the Maigh Dara estate in Quin when the theft occurred between midnight and 10am on Friday, December 26.
According to Gardaí, registration plates are stolen to assist in the commission of further criminal offences, such as burglaries of homes and commercial properties as well as unauthorised takings of other vehicles.

This is because a stolen registration plate enables crime as it allows the driver of a stolen car to travel without drawing the attention of authorities.
