Derry man returned for trial on two charges of attempted GBH

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on two charges of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent on a man and assaulting him occasioning him actual bodily harm.

Christopher O'Bryan (37) of Stevenson Park in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today.

He is charged with attempted GBH with intent on August 29 2021.

He is also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm to the same man on the same date. 

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

O'Bryan said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on February 6 and released on bail.
