Members of the public asked to avoid the Kylemore Park area.
The PSNI are currently at the scene of a suspected gas explosion in the city.
In a statement to Derry Now, the PSNI said: "The ongoing incident is in the Kylemore Park area of Derry.
"Members of the public are asked to avoid the area at this time.
"Further details will follow in due course."
