Road users are asked to keep in mind that an abnormally large load will be transported through Dungiven this Sunday.

Logistic contractors have requested that no cars be parked illegally on the Belfast-bound side of Dungiven Main Street from 5am to 10am this Sunday.

The extremely large abnormal load will be travelling on the A6.

A representative of the Department for Infrastructure said that the load is the movement of a barge from Lisahally port to Lough Neagh, just outside Toome by Mar-Train Haulage.

“The barge has been split into three separate loads to facilitate the movement. The largest of which being approximately 6m wide, 5m tall and 28m long.

“Permits have been granted to move the loads on the weekend of the 21/22 but I understand that the loads are to move early on Sunday morning,” they said.
