The Shantallow Sinn Féin centre on Racecourse Road has undergone refurbishment.

Speaking on the completion of the renovation, Derry City and Strabane District councillor Sandra Duffy said: "It is very important that we modernised and updated our facility on the Racecourse Road so that we can continue to offer first class constituency services.

“The area has grown vastly since we first set up a service in 1975 with a rising population of more than 30,000 people, which stretches from the Buncrana Road right down to the Culmore / Muff border. It is therefore a big undertaking to meet the growing needs of the people on a daily basis.

“It’s important to have such facilities located right in the heart of the community with easy access.

“The big issues at the minute are the £600 energy payment relief to people struggling to pay bills, getting photographic ID, passport issues, housing amongst many others. I would urge anyone who needs assistance to call into our office or call on 028 71359747.”
