Derry Court: Three men returned for trial for aggravated burglary and GBH charge

Councillor Carr demands return of Derry courts from Coleraine

Three men have been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of aggravated burglary and inflicting grievous bodily harm on a man.

Frederick Wheeler (43), Martin Wheeler (45) and Caomhan Wheeler (19) all of Stradowen Drive in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today.

All three are charged with entering a premises as a trespasser and inflicting grievous bodily harm on a person therein on September 16 2018.

They are also charged with assaulting this person occasioning actual bodily harm on the same date and causing criminal damage to a door.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

All three said they did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.

They were returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on March 2 and released on bail.
