Derry restaurant, Wheelers, has donated nearly 50 meals to Foyle Foodbank following their 'Suspend a Meal' scheme which was relaunched over the Christmas period.
The 'Suspend a Meal' tree saw customers donate and pay a meal forward when they visited and Wheelers matched every donation made.
As a result, £770 in food vouchers was donated to Foyle Foodbank and these vouchers will be distributed to 49 individuals and families in need across Derry.
Pat Kennedy at Wheelers came up with the idea roughly 18 months ago and has worked in partnership with Foyle Food bank ever since.
Speaking to Derry News, Pat said: "Over the last few months the donations had slowed down so we relaunched the campaign over Christmas and the generosity of the people of Derry has been phenomenal.
"For every donation from a customer, Wheelers matches the donation, for example if a customer puts £10 on the tree, we give £20 worth of food vouchers.
"The vouchers are broken down so we are helping individuals, families, single parents; anyone who is in need.
Pat thanked the generosity of everyone who donated adding, "Without our customers this wouldn't have been possible.
"Thank you to our amazing customers for your constant support towards this campaign."
