A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of causing grievous bodily injury while driving under the influence.
Simon McNulty (23) of Hely Burn Crescent in Strabane appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today.
He is charged with causing grievous bodily injury to a man by driving carelessly on Francis Street in Derry while under the influence of alcohol on March 13 last year.
He was also charged with two counts of assaulting police on the same date.
It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.
McNulty said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on March 8 and released on bail.
