Three men arrested following discovery of suspicious device in Derry

Detectives investigating a report of an attempted hijacking in the Hollymount Park area of Derry have made three arrests.

Following the attempted hijacking on Friday night at 9.35pm and the subsequent discovery of a suspicious device in the Corrody Road area on Saturday, 18th February, police have conducted a number of searches of properties in the area.

A number of items have been seized and three men aged 54, 29 and 32 have been arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

They remain in police custody assisting with enquiries.
