Limavady Court: Derry man accused of burglary and attempted GBH to face trial

A Derry man who is charged with a number of offences, including burglary and attempted GBH, is due to go on trial later this month.

Paul Ward, of Dunluce Court, appeared before a preliminary enquiry at Limavady Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with five offences.

The 36 year-old is accused of entering as a trespasser at a house in Limavady and attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm on a man.

He is further accused of making threats to kill, common assault and two counts of criminal damage.

The alleged offences were said to have been committed on August 1 2021.

Ward declined to give evidence or call any witnesses during the short hearing.

District Judge Peter King released the accused on bail of £500 and ordered him not to have any contact with the alleged injured party.

Ward is due to appear before Antrim Crown Court on March 29.
