Derry nail technician shortlisted in UK Hair and Beauty Awards

Derry nail technician, Rebecca Coul, has been selected as a finalist for the categories Rising Star, Best New Talent and Nail Technician of the Year

Rebecca Coul of Deviliousnails has been shortlisted in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2023.

The Derry nail technician has been selected as a finalist for the categories Rising Star, Best New Talent and Nail Technician of the Year.

Rebecca said she is "over the moon" to be a part of the competition, "I think I’m honestly still in shock, this is an unbelievable achievement for me," she said.

"Nails have always been therapy for me- especially when suffering mental health- it has been my saving grace. 

"I’ve been obsessed with nails for as long as I can remember. I feel I have a very unique niche."

Rebecca has had her nail designs featured on major platforms such as RuPaul's Drag Race, The Comic Relief Stage and The Prime Video Awards Red Carpet.

Rebecca continued: "I offer a wide range of designs, cartoon art and drag queen nails. I have done nails for some amazing people such as Krystal Versace and Scarlett Harlett on Rupaul's Drag Race. 

"It’s not a job for me but a passion; nails are my life. I put everything I have into doing them because I love it so much. 

"I went out of my comfort zone and entered into this competition to not only better myself, but to inspire and empower others. I want people to know that no matter what you're going through, never let anything stop you from reaching your dream."

The UK Hair and Beauty Awards celebrate the Hair and Beauty industry in an
aim to support businesses both large and small and expose all candidates to new opportunities via social media, no matter their financial and social status.

Introducing district and regional rounds, finalists will compete locally before heading to the national Grand Final Red Carpet Event. 

The Hair and Beauty Awards is breaking down barriers, helping contestants build followings and recognition – even if they don’t win. 

The awards are celebrating the entire process of the competition and all the amazing talent that has entered.

Rebecca added:"Thank you to everyone that has supported me and cheered me on, you are all amazing and I’m beyond grateful. I appreciate it so much, more than you'll ever know.

"I want to wish everyone who entered the very best, you are all amazing."
