A County Derry butcher is celebrating after winning first place in a prestigious competition.
Harry Miller, from Claudy, scooped the top prize in last night's NI Apprentice Sausage Competition 2023 held in Mallusk.
Beating off stiff competition from across the North, the young apprentice butcher walked away with the Scobie & Junor NI Apprentice Sausage Competition 2023 title.
Speaking after his win, Harry, who has been working at award-winning butchers O'Kane Meats in Claudy since leaving school, said he was 'delighted'.
"I am over the moon to achieve this award,” he said.
“There were so many entries from great butchers throughout Northern Ireland. I was delighted that my hard work and dedication were recognised and would like to thank the judging panel and organisers."
Rory O'Kane, Director of O'Kane Meats, commended the dedicated young butcher on his achievement.
"It was great to see so many young, enthusiastic and upcoming butchers taking part in the competition,” said Rory.
“Harry became part of the team at a very young age and it didn't take long for management to realise his dedication to the job.
“Harry's hard work has paid off and I am thrilled at his achievements.
“I believe this is only the start of Harry's career in butchery and he will achieve anything he puts his mind to.
“A massive congratulations from all at O'Kane Meats."
