Chivers welcomes progress on the upgrade of Drumsurn GAA's facilities

Councillor Brenda Chivers has welcomed the ongoing work to upgrade the club.

Sinn Féin Councillor Brenda Chivers has welcomed progress on the refurbishment and upgrade of Drumsurn GAA facilities.

Cllr Chivers said: "It is very welcome to see the second phase of Drumsurn GAA's refurbishment plans underway ahead of the club's centenary celebration in 2027.

"The first phase has already been completed, with a new kitchen and changing room. Now, work has started on the new walking path around the pitch and new fencing is up.

"This will be a real transformation for both the players and the wider community of Drumsurn.

"I am glad that some Council funds are contributing to this development, but I have to commend the local community for their fundraising efforts and commitment to this.

"I will continue to support this development in any way that I can."
