Derry Court: Man (33) charged with assaulting his mother occasioning her actual bodily harm

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with assaulting his mother occasioning her actual bodily harm.

Richard Samuel Bowers (33) of Banks of the Faughan Hostel in Derry appeared charged with entering a premises as a trespasser attempting to inflict GBH on a female on March 24.

He was also charged with assaulting the same woman occasioning her actual bodily harm on the same date and assaulting and resisting a police officer on March 25.

A police officer connected the accused to the charges and told the court that the alleged victim in the case was the defendant's mother.

He agreed bail conditions subject to the court with conditions.

Bowers was released on bail on condition he has no contact with his other, he does not enter Derry as defined by the Maydown roundabout except to attend a training course and that he observes a curfew.

Bowers will appear again on April 19.
