A scenes of crime officer told the inquest into the deaths of two Derry men shot dead by the SAS in the grounds of Gransha Hospital on December 6 1984 of finding two bodies lying on their backs.
William Fleming (19) from the Waterside area of Derry and Daniel Doherty (23) from the Creggan area of the city were shot dead in disputed circumstances in December 1984.
A new inquest was ordered into their deaths.
Leslie Sayers a former RUC SOCO in December gave evidence of visiting the scene of the shooting at 8.50am on December 6 1984.
He told the hearing that there were two bodies covered with blankets with Daniel Doherty lying on his back on the left hand side of the road.
The inquest heard that the SOCO recovered 6 9mm cases at the scene as well as bullet fragments and a black crash helmet.
The former RUC Constable also related how he came upon William Fleming also lying on his back.
He said that there were 4 bullet strike marks on the tarmac, a blood smear and fibres.
