The late Joe Mulheron.
There was sadness in Derry and beyond as news emerged of the passing of Joe Mulheron (76) the owner of the Sandino’s Bar in the city.
Originally from Belfast, Joe was also a member of the folk band, Men of No Property and penned the iconic song, ‘The Lid of Me Granny’s Bin’ in the early 70s.
Paying tribute to Joe Mulheron on Twitter, Darach MacDonald wrote: "Joe Mulheron, the Man of No Property, the founder of Sandino's in Derry – the best socialist bar in the world – has passed away. No pasaran, vive Sandino, vive Joe."
