What has been described as "racist and fascist" graffiti has been removed from walls in Derry's Bogside.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Republican group, Saoradh, said it had removed the "hate filled messages".
They added: "While we have seen a sharp increase in right wing propaganda spewed across the country, Derry has somewhat been void of it, until now. Upon becoming aware of the vile graffiti Saoradh immediately set about removing it.
"As Saoradh members arrived to cover the racist slogans, we were joined by other antifascist activists including members of Lasair Dhearg.
"Racism and Fascism will not be tolerated in Derry, or any part of Ireland, and will be opposed by Republicans.
"Saoradh are now aware of the identity of the individual involved, and will seek to put an end to this type of racist behaviour. As Republicans and followers of the teachings of Connolly, Saoradh are proud to be Anti-Fascist. The Republic of 1916 guaranteed civil liberties, equal rights and equal opportunities to all of its citizens. The ideology being spouted by the various fascist individuals and groupings across Ireland is the antithesis of the Republic that so many of our people died for."
