The Youth Justice Agency in Foyle marked its 20th Anniversary with an Open Day of their community services offices.
Guests from the judiciary, statutory services, the community and voluntary sector, and political representatives were able to speak directly to Agency staff at their Strand Road premises to learn about the range of earlier stage diversion and restorative justice focused services they deliver, and hear from young people, families and victims about the positive outcomes of these services.
Stephen Martin, Chief Executive of the Youth Justice Agency said “Since its inception in 2003, the Agency has been committed to keeping communities safer by helping children to stop offending.
“We deliver a range of services to children, families and victims often in partnership with others.
“These services have continued to evolve over the last twenty years and have played a key role in reducing the number of children entering or re-entering the formal justice system.”
“Our open days provide an opportunity to share more information about our work and its impact, improve understanding of the current Model of Practice we use and recognise and thank our partners for their support.”
