Derry Court: Bail for woman charged with dangerous driving and assault

Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on 28 charges

Derry Court

A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with dangerous driving and assaulting a man.

Aine Joyce (35) of Ferguson Street in Derry appeared charged with assaulting a man on June 19, dangerous driving in the vicinity of Joseph Place and driving while unfit through drink or drugs on the same date.

A police officer connected the accused to the charges.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said the defendant had an address that police had checked out and bail could be agreed subject to the court.

A police officer said police would not oppose bail subject to conditions.

Joyce was released on bail on condition she does not contact the alleged injured party in the case and does not take alcohol.

She will appear again on July 19.
