Artist Brian Farrell who is launching an exhibition of his work, titled 'Caught in a Flash', in Derry's Playhouse.
Well known local artist, Brian Farrell, is launching an exhibition of his work in Derry's Playhouse.
Titled 'Caught in a Flash', the exhibition features a series of portraits, which will be on display from August 5 to 31.
This is Brian's sixth solo exhibition in the city.
The striking collection is heavily influenced by pop art, expressionism and street art.
Speaking in advance of the opening night, Brian said: "Every portrait is not just a portrait of the subject, but of the artist. To quote Oscar Wilde: The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion. It is not he who is revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who, on the coloured canvas, reveals himself."
'Caught in a Flash' opens at 7pm on Friday, August 5. Admission is free and all are welcome.
