Exciting new business event planned in Derry to enhance local economy

An upcoming business event has been planned to boost the advanced manufacturing and engineering landscape in the North West.

The event seeks to explore exciting new practices and technologies within the business environment with active sponsorship from Council, DuPont, InvestNI and the DigiManufacturing Cluster of Manufacturing NI.

The GEMX event, which takes place on Friday, September 1 will see a range of companies and stakeholders come together to exchange ideas and best practice as well as offer advice and support.

The event seeks to connect like-minded professionals, bring together potential collaborations and explore business opportunities within the local landscape.

Joanne Sweeney, Project Director from GEMX, said the event hoped to explore collaborative opportunities to enhance the overall business landscape within the North West.

“GEMX exists to encourage collaboration and we are delighted to host this event where we feel the expertise of our larger North West companies will help shape the development of SMEs.

“Collaboration and networking are key to the success of the local economy and GEMX companies demonstrate this at every opportunity.”

GEMX is supported under Invest NI’s Collaborative Growth Programme, which is aimed at SME-led networks, and provides support for groups to pursue innovative collaborative projects with the potential to increase business competitiveness.

Attendees will have the chance to witness firsthand the latest technologies, products and services that are currently reshaping our industry landscape.

Individuals can engage and learn from industry experts, hear about their experiences, and listen to their success stories and use this information to shape their own business decisions going forward.

Whether you’re a small business or multi-national, Industry 4.0 offers solutions to common everyday challenges we all face.

There will be information on how automation, data analytics and digitalisation can optimise process, increase efficiency and drive productivity.

In a bid to future-proof their business, those attending will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and guidance on how to stay ahead of the curve by gaining insights into the latest industry trends and emerging technologies.

GEMX is grateful to the North West Regional College for hosting this Industry 4.0 Showcase event at their Springtown Campus from 9am to 2:30pm on Friday 1st September 2023.
