A man has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrate's Court after he was charged with with domestic violence offences.
Jonathan Simpson, 31, of Ventry Lane, Belfast, appeared charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a female on September 11 and the charge is aggravated by domestic abuse.
He was further charged with attempted grevious bodily harm with intent on the same female and obstructing a police officer again on the same date.
A police officer said she could connect the accused to the charges.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that there would be no bail application as the defendant's licence had been revoked and he was currently in custody.
He will appear again on October 5.
