New signage to be erected along Derry's A2 dual carriageway

New signage is to be erected along the dual carriageway towards Eglinton & City of Derry Airport, it has been confirmed.

the Department for Infrastructure has confirmed that 27 signs along the dual carriageway will be replaced.

Sinn Féin MLA Pádraig Delargy welcomed the confirmation.

The Foyle MLA said: “I welcome confirmation that 27 signs on the dual carriageway in the direction of Eglinton and City of Derry Airport will be replaced.

“Sinn Féin has been highlighting the poor condition of these signs to the Department for Infrastructure and the absolute need to fix them to keep drivers safe on our roads.

“I am delighted that after working with the Department, we have been able to secure the replacement of badly faded and damaged reduce speed, roundabout and airport signage along this extremely busy road.

“This is good news for residents of Eglinton, Greysteel and surrounding areas, but also for frequent users of this road and visitors to the city who are travelling via the airport.

“Anyone who is experiencing similar issues on other local roads, please get in touch with my office and we will work with the relevant agencies to get poor signage replaced.”
