Atlantic Hotel in Portrush
The Duddy group of Derry has completed the acquisition of the Portrush Atlantic Hotel.
The acquisition expands the group’s presence in the hospitality market in Derry, Dublin and the North coast of Northern Ireland. The acquisition is to be followed by additional investment in the Portrush Atlantic Hotel and its facilities.
Duddy Group director Brendan Duddy said: “We are pleased to complete the acquisition of the Portrush Atlantic Hotel. This is a good strategic fit for our business, building on our other assets in the hospitality sector in Derry, Dublin and the North coast.
"We see Portrush as growing its accommodation sector substantially in the coming years, especially for the lucrative American golfing market.
"The town benefits greatly from not only its stunning location, but also its association with some of the world’s best golf courses.
“Awareness of the North coast golf courses has grown significantly since the Royal Portrush hosted the Open in 2019 and is set to repeat this in 2025.
"The visibility of the North coast has increased as a result of the Open, which has led to Portrush and the North coast becoming an increasingly attractive destination for high net worth visitors from around the world.”
Acquisition of the hotel was completed on September, 29. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
