Waterside Half Marathon going ahead.
The previously under-threat Waterside Half Marathon has had a reprieve and will now go ahead.
The popular event will now take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
The announcement was welcomed by Derry City and Strabane District councillor, Rory Farrell (SDLP).
The running of the Waterside Half Marathon was among a number of decisions made at Council's Business and Culture Committee on Tuesday evening.
Councillors also agreed the Christmas Lights' Switch On would take place on Friday, November 24, 2023 and the Foyle Maritime Festival would run from June 27, 2024 until June 30, 2024.
Cllr Farrell also revealed that all funding letters had been received for Council's £13m Maritime Museum at Ebrington.
