UV Arts welcomes illustrator Shaun McIntyre with his work on display in The Garden of Reflection

“Halloween Horror” exhibition in Derry's Urban Art Gallery

The “Halloween Horror” Exhibition, as part of UV Arts Gallery takeover of The Garden of Reflection promoting Local artists and participants which promotes Street Art and Self-expression through the School of Street Art Program. UV Arts welcomes Shaun McIntyre with his work on display at UV Arts - Urban Art Gallery located at the Garden of Reflection Gallery - 16 Bishops Street, Derry in partnership with the Inner City Trust.

Shaun McIntyre is an exceptional illustrator, a lover of comics and heavy metal album covers, has a passion for horror and the classic horror films of the past. His work is heavily inspired by the old Hollywood horror characters, from Dracula to Hellraiser and everything in between. The horror exhibition will include portraits of a classic horror icons, along with some other dark art pencil sketchings.

Karl Porter of UV Arts, “As Derry is the capital of the Halloween season, we thought it was right to bring the art of Shaun’s to the people of this town. A great illustrator with an eye for the classic horror vibe is essential viewing for the festivities.”

UV Arts are currently continuing their takeover of the Garden of Reflection Gallery, in partnership with the Inner City Trust, aiming to create a new and exciting gallery experience for Derry city. The urban-art focused gallery is hosting a series of alternative art exhibitions by local, national and international artists throughout 2022 and 2023, in addition to UV Arts' ongoing street art and contemporary mural movement across the city and district.

“The Urban Art Gallery” hosts a series of workshops and demonstrations, and a School for Street Art, promoting and educating people and places via street art and contemporary mural arts, in addition to having an alternative art store stocking all the tools required to create colossal art and also a podcast studio that can be booked by local creatives and businesses.

UV Arts aims to educate, promote and change perceptions of public spaces via street art, graffiti and contemporary mural arts. Specialising in large scale outdoor murals, advertising and community-driven initiatives, Karl Porter and his team are involved in many creative and collaborative projects across the North West.

The exhibition runs from Wednesday, 25th October through to Saturday, 4th November 2023.

The Studio opens 11.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Saturdays.
