Pat Hoban will wear red and white in 2024.
Derry City are set to sign one of the most feared strikers in League of Ireland history in Pat Hoban.
The 32-year-old has done it all in recent years with Dundalk, winning three league titles, 2 FAI Cups, 2 EA Sports Cups, 2 President's Cups, 1 Unite the Union Championship Cup and featured in one of the Lilywhites' Europa League group stage campaigns. He has also been named on 4 PFAI Teams of the Year (2013, 2014, 2018, 2019) and won 4 SWI Player of the Month awards (July 2013, October 2014, June 2018, June 2023).
His goal-scoring exploits with Dundalk were nothing short of phenomenal and Derry City fans in particular know all about him, with Hoban scoring 11 times against the Candystripes, including three times at the Brandywell.
In 296 appearances (253 starts) with the club, Hoban scored 150 goals and provided 56 assists. In fact, in the 2023 campaign, no player in the Premier Division contributed more goals and assists than Hoban.
Hoban is a winner - and that stats back that up. In 117 games in which he scored for Dundalk, he won 86 times, drew only 16 and lost just 15. He has scored against 26 different opponents over the years and scored in 20 different venues. His goals are often vital to his team, and he has scored the first goal for Dundalk 75 times.
His numbers are incredible:
91 goals at Oriel Park
121 league goals
22 doubles
5 hat-tricks
24 penalties
65 first-half goals
83 second-half goals
2 extra-time goals
