Derry GAA star caps off week to remember with engagement to girlfriend Niamh

Derry GAA's star captain Conor Glass rounded off a week to remember by getting down on one knee and popping the question to his girlfriend Niamh just seven days after claiming the All-Ireland with his club Glen.

The 26-year-old former AFL star scored 1-2 in the final against Roscommon's St Brigid's at GAA HQ last weekend before lining out for Derry's opening National Football League win over Kerry on Saturday in Mickey Harte's first League game in charge.

Glass capped off the successful week by popping the question to his long-time girlfriend Niamh O'Donnell in the luxurious setting of Adare Manor in Limerick.

Sharing snaps of the proposal to Instagram, including one of Glass down on one knee, Niamh captioned the post: "I get to spend FOREVER with my best friend."

The photos show glass down on one knee in the first picture, him placing the ring on Niamh's finger in the second, with the third and final photo being a selfie of the pair with Niamh showing off a stunning ring.

Friends and followers flocked to the comments section to congratulate the pair who run a successful cafe together in Maghera, Derry called Café 3121.

One wrote: "Congratulations Niamha and Conor such fab news, enjoy all the celebrations and planning."

Another commenter said: "Awww amazing news Niamh and Conor! The ring is absolutely gorgeous."

After that momentous week, Glass will be back to his usual grind as Derry are back in action next weekend with a home tie against familiar opposition for Mickey Harte in Tyrone on Sunday.
