In collaboration between North West Regional College students and Acorn Farm, a new website has been launched, aiming to increase the visibility and profile of Acorn Farm.
Three 2nd year students from the college (Daniel O’Doherty, Chris McMonagle and Fearghal McFeely - (FdSc) Foundation Degree Software Development), took up the task of creating a dynamic online platform for Acorn Farm.
The website will serve as a virtual gateway for visitors to explore the farm's offerings, from its innovative design to its educational programs and volunteer opportunities.
Under the mentorship of their course tutor and with guidance from Acorn Farm staff, the students meticulously crafted a user-friendly interface that showcases the farm's ethos of sustainability and community engagement.
"We wanted to create a website that not only informs but also inspires individuals to get involved with Acorn Farm's initiatives," expressed Daniel O’Doherty, highlighting the team's dedication to the project.
Acorn Farm's management expressed gratitude for the impactful collaboration with the college and students. "This website opens new avenues for us to connect with the community and raise awareness about the importance of sustainable agriculture," said Shauna Kelpie (Community Foundation NI- Acorn Farm partner).
With the launch of this innovative website, Acorn Farm looks forward to engaging a broader audience and keeping people up-to-date with the farm’s progress.
