Man dies and two others injured in County Derry farm incident

The PSNI attended the scene of the farm incident earlier today.

A man has died and two others have been injured following an accident on a farm in County Derry.

Police attended the scene following the sudden death of a man aged in his 70s in the Cullyrammer Road area of Garvagh earlier today.

Two other men, also injured during the farm incident were taken to hospital.

The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

A PSNI spokesperson confirmed that officers will provide assistance to the Health and Safety Executive's investigation.

Aontú Deputy Leader Gemma Brolly offered her condolences following the sad news.

"Devastating news from the Aghadowey/Garvagh area this afternoon," she said.

"My sincere condolences to the family of the gentleman who has lost his life. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. Prayers also with those who have been injured. May we as farming families and everyone in the community wrap them in our care and support."
