A 65-year-old man from County Derry has pleaded not guilty to a series of historical sex offences against two alleged victims.

The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victims in the case, appeared at Derry Crown Court today.

He faced a total of 13 indecent assault charges against a female that were said to have occurred on dates between March 1 1975 and April 30 1976.

When the charges were put to him he pleaded not guilty to all charges.

He was also charged with one count if rape and one charge of indecent assault against another female on the same date range.

Again the defendant pleaded not guilty to both these charges.

The court heard that the potential trial would take approximately two weeks.

The case was adjourned until June 21 for case management before a date will be set for trial and the defendant was released on bail.
