Firefighters and specialist units rescue cow from water near Park village

Firefighters and specialist crews were called to the area to rescue cattle.

Firefighters and specialist rescue crews saved a cow that had become trapped in water near Park village over the weekend.

The animal had become stranded in water on the Learmount Road just after 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon.

A fire engine crew from Crescent link Fire station and three specialist vehicles were all sent to the scene to rescue the animal.

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called to reports of rescuing cattle in water on Learmount Road, Claudy. Firefighters rescued one cattle using specialist equipment. The incident was dealt with by 5.08pm.”
