Derry man pleas guilty to possession of cannabis and cocaine

Derry man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on dangerous driving charges

A Derry man has pleaded guilty at the local Crown Court to a series of drug charges.

Caolan McLaughlin (29) of Marion Hall in Derry appeared by Sightlink from custody.

He admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply on September 6 2022.

He also admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine on dates between November 11 2021 and September 7 2022.

McLaughlin also admitted possessing cannabis and being concerned in the supply of cannabis on the same dates.

The defendant also pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Diazepam and possessing the drugs on the same dates.

Finally McLaughlin admitted possessing an offensive weapon namely a baton on September 6 2022.

A pre-sentence report was ordered and the case will be mentioned on September 24.

McLaughlin is currently in custody.
